Welcome. I am so incredibly glad you are here. If you are searching for a safe space to land, to heal, or to figure out who you are beneath all the noise, you have found it.
Who Am I?
Hi, I’m Vanessa
I am the founder of Know Your Potential Consulting, where I provide life and career coaching rooted in self-compassion, clarity, resilience, and purposeful growth. As a broken neck survivor who has overcome traumatic and near-death experiences, I bring lived understanding, empathy, and compassion to the individuals I support. My personal journey through trauma, recovery, and rebuilding has strengthened my commitment to helping others navigate life’s challenges with courage, hope, and renewed purpose.
As a life coach, intuitive empath, menopause support coach, and newcomer advocate, I am passionate about helping people reconnect with themselves, rediscover their inner strength, and move forward with confidence. I support individuals through major life transitions, emotional healing, career changes, identity shifts, and personal growth by creating a safe, supportive, and empowering space where they feel seen, heard, and valued.
Through Know Your Potential Consulting, my approach combines compassion, self-awareness, and practical guidance to help people gain clarity, build resilience, and recognize the potential they carry within themselves — even after adversity. I believe healing and growth are possible at every stage of life, and I am dedicated to helping others step confidently into who they are becoming with authenticity, purpose, and self-trust.

CERTIFIED LIFE COACH
CERTIFIED COMPENSATION PROFESSIONAL
JOURNEYMAN COSMETOLOGIST
My passion has always been people. Throughout my life, I have been drawn to helping others recognize their strengths, navigate change, and rediscover their potential. I believe that every person carries a unique story, and when we are met with empathy, compassion, and genuine curiosity, transformation becomes possible.
My coaching approach is rooted in both lived experience and a diverse professional background. I bring over 20 years of experience in Human Resources, along with a Bachelor of Administration with a major in Accounting and a minor in Computer Science, certification as a Life Coach, designation as a Certified Compensation Professional, and even a Journeyman Hairdresser. While these experiences have shaped my perspective, it is the human connection that matters most. Each role has taught me the importance of listening deeply, building trust, and meeting people exactly where they are.
As a volunteer, mentor, coach, and lifelong learner, I believe growth happens when people feel seen, heard, and supported without judgment. Whether you are navigating a career transition, healing from life’s challenges, embracing menopause, discovering your purpose, or simply searching for your next step, my goal is to create a safe space where you can explore your possibilities with confidence.
My greatest credential isn’t found in a certificate or a title—it’s my commitment to walking alongside others with empathy, authenticity, and compassion as they discover the strength that has always existed within them.
Removal of the Halo
It came sudden, a week and a half early. I wasn't mentally prepared... and the worst pain of the entire journey came from those deep pin sites. It was a stark reminder that sometimes the transitions we long for are painful, jarring, and catch us completely off guard.
Reclaiming Joy From My Personal Cocoon
In my life, the metaphor of the cocoon became intensely literal when I suffered a life-altering neck injury. Healing wasn't a sudden, magical moment. It was a slow, sometimes agonizing, day-by-day surrender. It required me to meet my body with absolute, radical self-compassion when I was at my most vulnerable.
I documented my physical recovery journey because I wanted to show that healing is messy, it is real, and above all it is possible. Below are a few glimpses into my recovery. I share these with you to show that no matter how shattered things may feel right now, the body and the spirit have an incredible capacity to rebuild.
Getting on the Collar
Stepping out of the halo meant stepping into the next phase of support: the recovery collar. This video captures the transition of learning how to accept a different kind of boundary. It is about trusting a softer support system to hold me up while my body slowly remembered how to support itself again.
